Luke Murphy, Matt Smith and Noel Hunt, were all included in the starting line-up and Smith, after ten minutes, and Hunt half-an-hour later gave United a two goal lead at the break. It could easily have been more as Hunt had a goal disallowed and Aidan White hit the woodwork. Dominic Poleon added a third after sixty-six minutes, while Damjan Grah pulled a goal back for the home side three minutes later. However, Leeds cruised to an easy victory against a team selected from the the Pomurje region and comprising players from the Third Division. The twenty-six man squad was Denis Banfi (NK Grad), Matej Andrejc, Damjan Kaucic, Rok Roposa, Jernej Trstenjak (NK Verzej), Jernej Janza, Jaka Safer, Damjan Grah (NK Tromejnik), Uros Bagari, Marko Laposi, Rok Godvajs, Ales Kalamar (NK Rakican), Mitja Mauko, Tomaz Recek (NK Carda), Tadej Vogrinec, Primoz Smolkovic, Aljosa Kuzmanovski (NK Ljutomer), Jernej Slavic, Ales Kerec, Jernej Tkalec, Marko Smodis (ND Beltinci), Dejan Mlinaric, Mitja Zerdin, Dejan Sres, Rok Vouri, Bojan Matjasec (NK Odranci). They had two separate teams, one for each half. The second half team was: Matej Andrejc (NK Verzej); Tomaz Recek (NK Carda), Damjan Grah (NK Tromejnik); Marko Smodis (ND Beltinci), Aljosa Kuzmanovski (NK Ljutomer), Uros Bagari (NK Rakican); Dejan Mlinaric (NK Odranci), Rok Godvajs (NK Rakican), Rok Vouri (NK Odranci), Jernej Janza (NK Tromejnik), Jernej Tkalec (ND Beltinci). There were 300 Leeds fans in the crowd and they made their presence heard.

Leeds United took part in the Amsterdam Youth Tournament from 4th to 7th August 1993. Other participants: 04/08 v Vinding SF Denmark 04/08 v FCAsterdam Netherlands 05/08 v Eendracht Serskamp Belgium 05/08 v Ockero IF – Sweden. The games were played at Sportpark, Ookmeer.
